The commentary on determinism in the context of man vs. nature here, concluding that we have no control of events after they are set in motion. That is a hard pill to swallow for some viewers and thus the movie has a “love-hate” relationship with them. I rented “The Grey” on my DVR by going onto Dish Online though because it is so much easier to see the selections for rental, and I can even sort by genre, title or rating. That comes in handy when I’m looking for a “kid friendly” movie without weeding through so many other inappropriate movies.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3352166344614826568.post-88853876916906388052012-07-13T16:01:40.215-07:002012-07-13T16:01:40.215-07:00Loved this movie. After reading the review, the only reason I think I would see this movie is because Liam Nielson is awesome. However, he is awesome because his past roles involve him being a hardcore stoic badass without any inner conflict. I am all for depth of character and all but I will definitely wait until I an forced to watch this by a friend. Thanks for the quality review. Also, I had no idea that Jaws lead to the needless killing of sharks. That is crazy.Jason Keckhttp://www.mountainmight.com/noreply@blogger.com
