An interesting video has been making its way around the web. It's hard to tell where this guy's last piece is, but it's probably a ways down below him.
If there's one take-away from this video, it's that it's probably a bad idea to go ice climbing when the route you're on is running water...

Last Piece of Protection: If you watch the beginning of the video in full screen, you can just see his rope running through a draw below his left foot. Can't see what it's attached to though. After the ice collapses, you can see it is still attached (Min: 2:38).
ReplyDeleteI doubt any of his draws were extremely stable in that ice. He does not look to concerned about his well being though. Maybe its just the stoic composure of a veteran climber.
