Weekend Warrior -- Videos to Get You Stoked!

Welcome Warriors to today's video fun. Our first offering today is a look back in time. And our second offering is a look at how things have evolved. Love it or hate it, things continue to change in our sport and these two videos really show how things have changed.

In 1976, Earl Wiggins, Ed Webster and Bryan Becker made the historic first ascent of the desert climb "Supercrack." They did this before the advent of cams, using only hexes and wired nuts. As such, a death fall was a real possibility. Stewart Green and Michael Gardner had the foresight to film this historic event.

The first ascent of Supercrack was a tangible manifestation of the possibilities of rock climbing. Before its ascent, it was absolutely unknown if Supercrack or any of the other now famous splitter cracks that line the cliffs of Indian Creek Canyon could be safely climbed. They were not sure if any of their gear would actually wedge against the smooth walls inside the soft sandstone’s parallel sided crack to keep a falling climber from decking.

This second video of the day is "just sick." The movie is about the Natural Games festival in Europe and it features paragliding, rock climbing, mountain biking and white water kayaking. This is one of those super adrenaline videos that we all know and love. Check it out!
