Glacier Area Road Update

AAI just received the following report from Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. It looks like Glacier Creek Road is open! In other words, the North Side of Baker is OPEN!!!!

Glacier Area Roads Update as of 9-3-09.

FSR 39 - Glacier Creek Road
Sept. 3 - Road open to ALL at 5 pm today. That includes vehicles.
Sept 4-7 - No road work planned.
Sept 8 - Contractor will be moving some large Riprap rock at MP 2.65. Watch for truck traffic. You may see flaggers.
Sept 9-14 - No road work planned.
Sept 15 - Contractor will be placing road aggregate subgrade rock. Expect delays all day of up to 60 minutes minimum.
Sept 16 - No road work planned.
Sept 17 - Contractor will be placing road asphalt surface. Expect LONG delays ALL day today. You may be waiting a very long time to get through.


FSR 31 - Canyon Creek
Sept 3 - Road work continues at all sites.
Sept 4-7 - No road work planned.
Sept 8 - 10 Road work continues at all sites.
Sept 11 - 13 - No road work planned.
Sept 14 - 17 - Expect HEAVY truck traffic as lots of road surfacing aggregate will be hauled. 5 Trucks on round trips all day for 4 days. Expect delays and close encounters. PAY Attention. There are to be flaggers stationed out on the road as well as periodic warning signs. Delays WILL be LONG during this work. Advice.......Hike somewhere else this week. I suggest Hannegan road.

FSR 3040 - E. Church
Sept 3-7 - No road work planned.
Sept 8-30 - Road WILL Be CLOSED TO ALL during this time. Forest Order. No exceptions.

NOTE: HEAVY truck traffic WILL be associated with ALL of this work so WATCH for the trucks.
